For most of my life, I have dreamed of riding my motorcycle to Sturgis, South Dakota.
Because of my severe health issues, it was going to be challenging. Still, some of my brothers and I planned a 12-day trip to Sturgis. What we had ahead of us was roughly 3800 miles from Greenwood, SC, to Rapid City SD, and back.
The event we were attending in South Dakota was the Bikers for Christ 35th Anniversary Sturgis reunion that was held in conjunction with the 85th Annual Black Hill Motorcycle Rally.
Right here, I would like to take a moment to say what a blessing it was to meet so many wonderful Bikers for Christ members from all over the world who attended. Seeing how God is working in each one of their lives for the glory of God's kingdom was absolutely amazing! May God's Grace and mercy, and love be with you always as you spread the gospel to so many. AMEN!
I would also like to take a moment and thank the nine other men who rode to Sturgis with me. If it wasn't for these nine brothers, I could never have made this journey. They are truly filled with God's spirit as servants of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Again, I have some severe health issues. While I am perfectly capable of riding my motorcycle, other things present a real challenge. These men made sure that if I needed anything, from cold water to lifting my gear from my motorcycle and carrying it to motel rooms, they made sure I was taken care of.
At Mount Rushmore, they even took turns pushing me up a hill in a wheelchair. These men made sure that I wanted for nothing. There was always one of them around me, making sure that I was in good hands. God's love and true presence were with each one of us as we were able to pray with and witness to many on the highways and byways of this beautiful country.
When we returned home, I had clocked over 4000 miles on my Electra Glide! A successful trip made possible by my brothers.
Each one of these men has a very special gift that God has given to them to expand his kingdom and to be utilized for his glory. It was not only a blessing that they assisted me, but that these men helped so many others as well. They worked on broken-down motorcycles, lifted people in prayer, and added strength to our brotherhood.
Each of you has a special, God given gift as well. Use that gift that God has given you and be a true servant of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.
So, remember to be kind and courteous, showing the love of Jesus by maybe holding a door for someone, lifting a bag of groceries, maybe returning a grocery cart for someone, how about even a smile that would truly make their day and yours.
My love and my gratitude to each one of these men for making my dream a reality, it was a true Blessing from God!
Be that blessing to someone else today!
PROVERBS 17:17 NASB
A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.
JOHN 13:14-15 NASB
If I then, the Lord and the teacher, washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another's feet. For I gave you an example that you also should do as I did to you.
